Student Development Board

The Vision of the PES Modern College of Pharmacy (for Ladies), Moshi is student-centric. The Students’ Development Board of the College truly represents this vision that is multidimensional as well as multifaceted. This vision sees the youth as a source of strength where their energy is harnessed for nation-building and socially relevant activities to build an egalitarian society.

It promotes and coordinates the different students’ activities for better corporate life. Student Development tries to nurture students’ mental, physical and cultural growth with various activities to improve their overall personality development and to make them civilized Indian citizens to compete in the globalized world.

The Student Development/Welfare Board in the College works under the guidance of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune with Three committees namely the Student Development Cell, Student Council and Equal Opportunity Cell.

Objectives

  1. To assist students with the issues and difficulties in various facets related to their day-to-day life.
  2. To assist students on the issues connected with their academic world.
  3. To assist students with personality development and healthy campus life.
  4. To protect the rights of students.

The College implemented Savitribai Phule Pune University; Pune sponsored schemes for the students.

  1. Earn and Learn Scheme:

The main objective of the scheme is to develop a student as a personality with academic excellence and a commitment to an egalitarian society. This scheme is undertaken for the benefit of students coming from rural areas, who are economically backward, intelligent and meritorious but cannot afford higher education, needy and financially hard-pressed. It inculcates in the student the idea that no work is big or small and develops a work culture with the right aptitude. This is a vision of keeping our youth gainfully employed as well as to contribute from civil society This will make higher education accessible and available to the poor, meritorious, and the marginalized.

The students enrolled under the scheme are given different types of work such as office work or field work. However, when the distribution of work is given it is seen that all students get equal opportunity to get all different kinds of work.

Nirbhay Kanya Abhiyaan:

The scheme is sponsored by the SPPU and provides the total expenditure on this scheme. All students are given full-day training workshops in the sector of Health/Law/Women’s Safety and/or Self Defence Training and Social Activities.
