PES Modern College of Pharmacy (For Ladies), Moshi is a part of one of the most prestigious educational organization of Pune, namely Progressive Education Society (PES). The history of PES goes long back into the pre- independence era, when education had overtones of patriotism and social obligations.
PES was established in1934 by L Hon. Shankarraoji Kanitkar and his devoted teacher colleagues. The two remarkable words that appear in the names of the Society and its educational institution are “Progressive” and “Modern”. The inclusion of these words was certainly with some noble intentions, which serves as a bright beacon for the society to follow with determination. It manages more than 62 educational institutes including schools and colleges of Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Management etc.
PES is managed by the Business Council, which is led by Prof. Dr. G. R. Ekbote who, apart from being a Professor of surgery, is a well-known academician. The Business Council comprises medical practitioners, academicians, professionals, businessmen, and social workers.

In its brief history, the college has achieved a number of accomplishments. The college earned a “Gold Rank” in the AICTE-CII survey of 2018 and two times placed in band of 75-100 NIRF Ranking.
The college is a pioneering institute for offering all pharmacy courses exclusively for girls aiming women empowerment. The College has recently started Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) course to fill the gap between doctors and patients through Clinical Pharmacists and respond to the needs of the ever-growing demanding sector of healthcare in India.
